Kanakamala is a mountain near Chokli in Kannur District of  Kerala. It is a part of the Western Ghats.Kanakamala is 6 km from Mahe and 16 km from Thalassery.

There is one asram of renowned writer "Nithya Chaithanya Yathi" 

situated at the top of the hill .

The hill  is a combination of Bhakti and adventure . The Kanakatheertham is an perennial source of  water . Its cool atmosphere gives visitors an enchanting experience .
The hill now attacked by real estate mafias , and the public have created action committee for the protection.

 

   

There is one Kanakambika temple being constructed at the entrance of Kanakama & Kanakatheertham.
