The Meenkunnu Beach is a beautiful beach covered with golden sand and coconut trees. It is an extension of Payyambalam beach.Meenkunnu beach is 10 km away from Kannur town and is located in Azhikode village.

The secluded and serene the beach is a Tourists Paradise that is clean and green. Visitors really love the time spent here.The name of the beach is derived from two Malayalam words: meen (which means fish) and kunnu (meaning hill).




 Meenkunnu Beach is an ideal holidaying spot for those who want to spend their time in tranquility. Travelers can spend their time strolling through the shores and enjoying the golden rays of the setting sun. The cleanliness and safety of the beach and its surroundings enable families and couples to visit it any time of the day.

The Valluvan Kadav Sree Muthappan temple is situated at Kannadiparamba in Kannur. The Temple is a 400-year-old temple that was recently renovated completely, drawing large numbers of devotees to this temple .




Valluvan Kadavu has gained world-wide attention among temples  similar to this. Sri Muthappan who is the worshipable diety of common people has always remained the hope of poor people.

Valluvan Kadav temple’s importance is the result of the revelation  of Muthappan to the gods.






"Gulikan”, the foremost among the associates of Lord  Siva is a favorite of devotees at Valluvan Kadavu. During the festival time at Valluvan Kadavu , it is predicted there is a strong divine presence of Gulikan. This diety has been given a special place atValluvan Kadavu. 
  






When Muthappan’s form is manifested in once mind, one also a sees a dog lying near the feet of God Muthappan. Dog is the companion when the hunters go out for hunting. When we think of this, we can understand how the dog is associated with Muthappan who loves hunting. When we think of it we can also understand the dog stands for a particular cause. The dog which is is a domestic animal for the ancient people is a symbol of faithfulness.
